Solid State Drives fahren kräftig ab - Um 76% soll sich die Zahl der ausgelieferten Speichergeräte auf SSD-Basis (Solid State Drive) bis 2012 im Schnitt pro Jahr erhöhen. Der Erfolg dieses Storage-Mediums wird dabei unterstützt durch die fallenden Preise pro Gigabyte sowie Faktoren wie Leistung und Zuverlässigkeit - mit denen die Flash-Speicher punkten können. Laut IDC profitiert davon nicht nur das PC-Segment, sondern auch der STorage-Bereich, in den SSDs zunehmend einziehen werden. The Deutsche Telekom has chosen 3 RAM-SAN-500 systems of HMK Computer. The whole database of the Siebel-CRM-Systems was mirrored and outsourced on the 2 TB systems and the access time was improved substantially.

At the CeBIT 2008 HMK introduced her new partner Zenk who presented his Panobox, a zero-client for desktop visualization. Pano was developed to realize a server based desktop visualization. By moving the software from desktop to server the Pano device does neither need a CPU, nor a memory, operation system or driver. By using the features which provide visualization Pano does not only offer complete Microsoft Windows support including complete USB support, but also a wide range of premium features which are in no way provided by desktop PCs and Thin Client architectures. As the Pano device has no software, the Pano Zero Client Design offers an absolutely safe desktop which is immune against viruses and other malware.
